The E8-BANK complements Mathias Hahn's table of the same name; the dimensions of the bench are coordinated so that the bench can also be slid under the table between the table legs to save space. "The bench deliberately has no overhangs like the table because I didn't want to make a copy of the table in bench form," explains designer Mathias Hahn.

A complex color staining technique creates a semi-transparent look and leaves the natural structure and depth of the oak wood visible. The surface treatment requires manual dexterity and can therefore not be automated. A special staining technique is applied in several work steps. Since the microstructure of the surface is not smooth but brushed, the stained wood appears naturally matt despite its coloration.

The color glaze for the colors zinc yellow and poppy differs significantly in appearance and technique from the color stain. It remains on the surface, so it does not penetrate into the wood. It differs from an opaque color varnish in that it leaves the wood structure visible.
