About us
The beginnings:
Frank Sauer discovered his passion for the furniture industry during his apprenticeship from 1983 to 1985 at one of the most renowned furniture stores in Frankfurt am Main, Ferdinand Heide. However, more was needed to pursue a successful career. In order to understand the spectrum of the furnishing industry even more comprehensively, he worked in the consumer goods sector for almost 20 years. During this time, he worked as customer service manager at Segmüller GmbH & Co KG in Frankfurt am Main and Weiterstadt and as sales manager at Möbel Erbe GmbH in Hanau. In 2005, Möbel Erbe GmbH was sold and this marked the beginning of his path to self-employment.
- 2006: The origins of our company date back to 2006, when Frank Sauer founded Home & Light Limited & Co KG and initially ran the business from his living room.
- 2007: A small office was rented and 3 workstations were integrated. Start of cooperation with renowned brands such as Caravita, Mawa Design, Officina Alessi and other brands.
- 2008: The global economic crisis also reached our company. Two years after its foundation, we overcame the challenge at a low level, remained true to our line and emerged stronger.
- 2010: Move to a building with two separate offices and storage space.
- 2011: Start of collaboration with other brands such as Moonlight Technology and Vondom.
- 2014: Introduction of a new store system for a more dynamic and professional presentation of the products
- 2019: Change of company name from Home & Light Limited & Co KG to Home & Light e.K. due to Brexit
- 2022 : Opening of the showroom of our partner KD-Überdachungen with our permanent product presentation. We present the largest VONDOM product selection in Germany on 1200 m².
A new chapter:
The move to Berlin was not just the start of a new business chapter for us. Together with my wife, who supports me with energy, experience and a lot of heart, we have continued to develop Home & Light - with new ideas, a clear focus and even more personal proximity to our customers.
- 2025: From the living room in Hanau to the design stage in Berlin - our new chapter begins.
