Cylindrical light head in a minimalist design - no visible screws disturb the filigree appearance. The wittenberg 4.0 luminaire series achieves high luminous efficacy with compact dimensions, low energy consumption and a large, well glare-free light emission surface. Thanks to a wide range of variants and configurations, the luminaire series is suitable for both private use and demanding special applications.

The light head can be tilted through 90° and rotated through 365° so that it can be individually aligned to the ceiling, wall or object.

Wittenberg 4.0 - The multi-talent:
The diversity and flexibility of the wittenberg system luminaire family is unsurpassed. wittenberg 4.0 is mawa's most variant system luminaire and is very often used in individualized applications. With the fourth generation of the multifunctional light head, the entire luminaire series has been technically further developed and formally reduced to what is possible.
Future compatibility and sustainability are particularly important to mawa. Therefore, we offer you the possibility to equip predecessor models with the light head of our latest generation 4.0.

Apart from invisible cables and screws, our demand for technical perfection of form is reflected in the harmonious proportions, the material thickness and the sharp radii of the edges. Especially minimalist designs like the wittenberg 4.0 live from the quality of such details.

Rimless luminaire housing for plastering into drywall ceilings: The wi4-eb-1r-ep recessed spotlight with semi-flush light head also impresses technically with high light output at low volume.

Wide variety:
As with the surface-mounted luminaire wi4-ab-1e-as, the colors of the wittenberg 4.0 luminaire series correspond with current material and furnishing trends - for example, in bicolor black and glossy copper. Individual color requests mawa makes possible on request.

Form follows pleasure:
The greater the design freedom, the more pleasure is derived from designing and planning light and interiors. Recessed spotlights and surface-mounted spotlights from the wittenberg 4.0 luminaire series are available as standard with one to four light heads in round, oval and angular housings - e.g. recessed spotlight wi4-eb-2e with overlapping rim for installation in drywall ceilings.

The wittenberg 4.0 luminaire series is easy to install, adjust and revise. For example, not only in the case of the wi4-eb-1r recessed spotlight with overlapping rim can the entire light head be quickly replaced thanks to a bayonet - patent pending.

The wittenberg 4.0 spotlights are too beautiful to be illuminated only on ceilings and walls. floor lamp druff goes "in" in the socket and "on" on the shelf. It and its big sister, the floor lamp "parkett", are suitable for indirect glare-free basic lighting, especially to accentuate pictures, exhibits and other furnishings with light in a targeted manner.

Material, surfaces, colors:
mawa places the highest demands on the surface design of its luminaires. Our luminaires are powder-coated to a high standard - so excellently that experts sometimes thought they were wet-painted. Usually they are available in black matt or white matt or in the colors gray, beige, blue and red.
On request, all RAL colors are available, as well as surfaces with high gloss in chrome, brass, burnished brass or copper. Anodized surfaces are imitated with our special "mawa Eloxal" powder coating. This is not only more homogeneous, but also 100% repeatable in color and appearance.

Mawa Design was founded in 1977 by Martin Wallroth. In the company, which was then located in Kreuzberg, he developed and produced objects for the living area. In the following years, the one-man business expanded and established itself as a professional company. During this time, Mawa Design designs often took a pioneering role for formative ideas in the field of product design. To this day, the unusual combination of design office and manufactory contributes significantly to the company's success.

The eighties made understanding and interest in design popular. Mawa Design therefore broke new ground. In cooperation with external designers, product ideas for everyday life could be designed and quickly implemented due to the flexible structure of the company. The product range finds its customers mainly in the upscale retail trade.

In addition to the standard program of the manufactory, special productions according to individual specifications can of course also be realized. For example, luminaires have been produced for the Federal Chancellery, the Ministry of Economics, the Corbusier House, the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin or for the Luther House in Wittenberg. Renowned companies such as BMW, Daimler Benz, Jil Sander, Hotel Bleibtreu, KaDeWe, Sony or The Conran Shop work with Mawa Design when it comes to first-class lighting. Mawa products, which are characterized by high-quality materials and excellent workmanship, have been included in important collections of museums around the world.

Green light for further growth. With its own design department, research and development, as well as its own lighting laboratory, the company is now one of the preferred partners of internationally active specialist planners. mawa design has advanced from being an insider tip to a leading brand in the contract sector, especially in museums, libraries, sacred buildings and monuments with minimalist lighting tools. A new branding with a striking logo reflects the far-reaching importance of the company in the professional world. Here, too, the following applies to the design: less is more. And so in 2017, the brand name is also reduced to two syllables - mawa design becomes mawa. Only color and attitude remained unchanged green.
