The Panarea serving table is made entirely of glossy, glazed ceramic that is formed by casting. In this production method, the clay slurry is poured into a plaster mold, which absorbs the water and forms a thick layer of clay. Once finished, the piece is completely dried and then fired at over 1000°, creating the so-called "bisque". At this point, the bisque is airbrushed in the desired colors and again at about 980°. When the glaze is suitable, the piece is finished. The term casting refers to the filling of the clay mold. Clay slip is a liquid mixture of clay

Sustainability:

For the production of Panarea, a white clay mixed with 30%fireclay is used, which increases the strength of large pieces.Fireclay is obtained by recycling already fired ceramic pieces that have been discarded for various reasons (e.g. second choice, accidental breakage). Another important point is the drying of the pieces, which is carried out only with sunlight or by using the heat generated during firing, thus reducing the consumption of electricity and gas. No solvents are used in the production processes; everything is carried out with water, which is returned to the production processes thanks to a purification system. The company is committed to protecting the environment, having signed contracts for the supply of energy from renewable sources.
